are the strokes using some sort of mind control to promote their new album? are there subliminal messages in the new articles in rolling stone and spin? did someone implant something in my brain while i slept?
i ask this because, although i am a fan of the strokes [and have been longer than most, i've said it before, but i'll ALWAYS say it again], i was looking forward to buying their new album, but notsomuch excited about it. so i read the articles last night before bed [i heart albert stroke!] and then proceeded to have stroke-infested dreams all night. vivid vivid dreams in which i was hanging out with them and friends of mine, but the general gist or theme of the dream was them promoting their album big time. julian would say, "did you know our album comes out tomorrow?" and then nick would say, "our new album is so good, you should really get a copy!" and then albert would say, "vivakate, you're adorable, let's makeout! by the way, are you going to buy my new album?" and fab would say, "you and albert should totally hang out with me and drew, after you buy our new album!" and nikolai would say, "..."
seriously, i woke up from this strokefest and my heart was pumping and my only thought was "jesus christ! i can't wait to buy this album!" i listened to the old album in preparation all morning, and then hustled my butt to newbury comics to buy it a few minutes ago. i'm listening to it now and it's very good, but i'm by no means ready to weigh in on it yet.
i'm just confused how my bemused interest in getting the new strokes album turned into rabid fandom while i slept. i don't get what happened. all i know is their nefarious mind control plot worked and i'm pumping their possibly evil subliminal messages into my ears as i write this. slave to rockandroll indeed...
