alright my babies, you can resume normal breathing...i got a bracelet. tonight, i will see my darlin iggy at the in-store. that is, if all goes smoothly. they handed out these lame-ass flyers that told us our bracelets and the fact we waited in line and bought iggy's new cd to gain admittance tonight do not guarantee we will get into the show. we had already waited an hour at this point, so we figured we should just get the cd/bracelet combo anyway and cross our fingers. we're not out of the woods yet!
so we got there at 9am this morning and the line wasn't that long. it was oddly populated with a true crossection of society though. the woman in front of us looked like a soccer mom, while the guy behind us was a hipster type. but there were truckdriving men and little schoolgirls and emo kids and nerdy scientist types and out and out iggyiacs. i found it interesting how iggy brings all sorts of peeps together...
tonight's show? acoustic apparently! i am hoping the asheton bros presence leads to a set heavy on the stooges (raw power and fun house straight up please!) and light on this new album i was forced to buy. i'm listening to it for the second time today and i'm not sure why every magazine jizzed all over it. rather than "i'm a streetwalking cheetah with a heart full of napalm", you get "big tits high ass, long legs flat stomach" in a song called "superbabe". ugh. not what i expected. iggy, i hope you're not reading this. i still love you more than ever, but i don't think "skull ring" is gonna flop into heavy rotation...
so here's the bad news. no pics with the igster. you can take pics while they play, but you can't take a pic with the king. it's gonna be awfully hard (no pun intended) for me to grab his eleven-incher if i can't get close. sigh...my sister's hilarious solution to the no pic problem? hire a sketch artist to come with me to the show and draw a composite rendering of iggy and i together. i'm thinking about it...
will my proverbial socks be rocked off tonight? iggy only knows.
