i am utterly despondent today. why? because i am deeply saddened that last night i watched the final* episode of "the office" ever. it was humorous, per usual, but there was this overwhelming sense of foreboding the whole time. my co-watcher and i began to tick off the minutes as we were watching and beginning to freak out as we realized just how little time we had left to spend with the denizens of wernham hogg. the last ten minutes were some of best television i've ever seen in my life. i gasped, i laughed, and i cried (my co-watcher even welled up, although i'm sure he'd deny it). it was a completely emotional undertaking. in an attempt to (re)live the dream, i caved and bought myself the season 1 dvd today, just so i can start over from the beginning and possibly share it with everyone i know and love.
another thing i feel compelled to share with peeps are the shoes i bought this weekend. you know those ugg boots that are ubiquitous in hollywood? well i bought a pair of fuggs. why fuggs? because i bought them at target for $25 bucks so they're not official uggs or anything. officially though, they're my new favorite shoes. they're not a whole hell of a lot to look at but literally i feel like i am walking on clouds. you can rock the bare feet in them or wear them with socks. i've worn them exclusively since i got them, aside from a sojourn in the name of fashion on saturday night.
what have we learned today my babies? start watching "the office" immediately. get the dvds and stalk bbcamerica for repeats of season 2. secondly, buy a pair of fugs. your feet will thank me. you will thank me.
*confirmed rumor: there will be two "xmas specials". the last two episodes of the office ever. airing in england at xmastime, so only iggy knows when we'll see it over here.
