i can't even begin to describe how busy i am here. my boss checked out 2 weeks ago and has done no work since, guess who has 40+ pages to edit by tomorrow at 1pm? yep, yours truly. i can't wait for him to leave, because he truly sucks the big one.
went out to lunch with "new boss" yesterday, she is nice and wants to do a good job (as opposed to being a slacker) so i feel good about the change. still need a deputy badge to wear with my cowboy boots on my first official day as deputy.
nyc trip this weekend was good, fun, interesting, and somewhat shocking at points. the play "wicked" is wicked good. i heart idina menzel, i would never be so pretty with a green face and body. don't even get me started on her voice. sat night dinner was scenestery at this new(ish) place called "schiller's liquor bar"; i think its in the lower east side (i'm so clueless about nyc neighborhoods). i took the words "liquor bar" to heart and proceeded to get completely shitfaced. we're talking hooded eyes and a bit of slurring. i have to say i looked adorable the entire time though, i never tripped over the edge into ugly drunk. sunday at the whitney was a dream come true. the john currin exhibit literally made my heart race. he is my artist boyfriend always. i wish i was his wife and muse, rachel because she takes adorable to a new extreme. if you are not familiar with him, look his stuff up, i am at loss for words about how fucking good it is. i bought the book that went with the exhibit AND a book of elizabeth peyton's stuff. she does paintings of her friends and rock stars like jarvis cocker. i am psyched i bought it.
in more trendmonger news (see fuggs), i bought a "jelly kelly" on the street in nyc. what is a "jelly kelly"? it is a fake hermes kelly bag made out of a plasticy substance. mine is an ubercool orangey-red. it is big and waterproof and kate moss carries a real kelly bag, so i'm in good company. sometimes i can be a dyed-in-the-wool trendwhore. the real kicker? i paid a mere $65 for the bag, which goes for $170 online. nyc street vendors, is there anything you can't do?
