work is bad. very busy. no time.
great weekend. fabulous. fantastic. overthetop. and me and my short-term memory loss are paying for it bigtime. if thom yorke were my friend he'd call me and say, "idiot, slow down, slow down..." but that's only because thom is a vegetarian who doesn't drink. needless to say, i do feel the need to keep alcohol and sundries away from my body this week (well until friday night). i mean, i KNOW i had fun, but i can't tell you about it in explicit detail. it's more like a hazy shade of winter.
today i am buying moon boots. shut it.
i'm sorry i didn't talk about the golden globes here, but in a word? lackluster. this is not the best year for movies, although one of my all-time favorite movies is from this year (hi bill, sofia and scarlett!) bill murray looked debonaire and probably has the most well-maintained beard i've ever seen, his wife probably never suffers from beard burn. sofia turned into a total valley girl when accepting her award for best comedy. i love that about her. diane keaton winning over scarlett johansson? BOOO-RING, safe, and stupid. typical. kudos to renee zellweger who stole "cold mountain" and to charlize theron who WAS "monster". i was glad to see 24 win best tv show, although according to some, i'm the only person in the world still watching this show...i don't even want to rehash the globes, i was half-asleep and thought they sucked, which is so unlike me.
oscar noms out. some surprises, including one savvy mr. depp. can i get a "hell yah" that tom cruise and nicole kidman were not nominated this year? i'm psyched about that, and i can't say why for sure. movies i need to see: whale rider, house of sand and fog, in america, pieces of april, 21 grams, and the cooler. movies i will never see: seabiscuit, master and commander, and the last samurai. if you tied me to a chair and forced me to watch any of those three movies, i would NEVER stop struggling to get free the entire time.
